The Art of Romance has a very special place in my heart. The release of this album came about the same time I bought my first iPod and I listened to this album daily, sometimes several times a day, for weeks. I fell in love. I have gifted the CD of The Art of Romance to several friends and all of them have wound up Tony Bennett fans. It’s a beautiful album that tells the story of a romance, from beginning to end. I also adore the photograph of Tony on the cover. And it’s full of great songs, such today’s “I Remember You.”

Whenever I want to “convert” someone to Tony, I give them this album. If you haven’t listened to it lately, I suggest that Valentine’s Day is a great day to give it a listen.

Regular readers may already know of my love for (or obsession about) The Art of Romance. It’s the album I listened to two or three times a day for the month after I bought it. It’s the album I give to friends to explain why I love the singing of Tony Bennett so much–and it always converts those friends into fans. If I had to pick two Tony Bennett albums to take to a desert island, they would be Tony Bennett at Carnegie Hall and The Art of Romance. Both are brilliant. Both are perfect.
