About This Song

“The Cool School” was written in 1959 by Sid Wayne and Al Frisch. These two wrote songs together as well as with others over the years. Frisch wrote “I Won’t Cry Anymore,” another Tony Bennett song; Wayne wrote “Mangos,” which was recorded by Rosemary Clooney and scored several films for Elvis Presley.

Tony Bennett recorded this song in 1959. It was arranged and conducted by Ralph Sharon.
