I’ve had the privilege to see Mr. Bennett several times in concert and I can vouch for how he makes people feel. After every concert I’ve been to, members of the audience reach to each other, to complete strangers, to talk about how much the music means to them. In that moment, we are all transformed. The concerts are a true miracle of love.
Tony Bennett appeared on the Katie Couric show this week; he sang a song and then sat down with her for this interview. By the way, he says that Cheek To Cheek is due in September.
I came across this wonderful interview on YouTube; Tony Bennett being interviewed by Malcolm Gerrie. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did. It is a bit long, but I promise it’s worth your time.
I came across a wonderful interview with Tony Bennett conducted by Bruce Klauber for ICON magazine, an arts magazine for the Philadelphia area. The interview was also included on the WRTI website. Click here to read this very good interview.
Bruce and Tony talk about the art of singing, jazz, Count Basie, Lady Gaga, Duke Ellington and much, much more. It’s thoughtful and very interesting.
You can read the same interview from the July 2013 edition of ICON on the ICON magazine website with a nice photograph of Mr. Bennett.
