We remember Leonard Bernstein today. He was born on August 25, 1918, in Lawrence, Mass. In his lifetime, he was known as a composer, conductor, pianist, author, and educator. He wrote three Broadway musicals, composed numerous concert pieces, led the New York Philharmonic Orchestra, and much more. He was one of first American-born conductors of a major American orchestra.
