The Year of Tony Bennett

An Appreciation of the Art and Music of Tony Bennett

February 7, 2026 By Suzanne Leave a Comment

Song of the Day: I’ve Got Just About Everything

The song of the day for Saturday, February 7, 2026, is “I’ve Got Just About Everything.”

About This Song

“I’ve Got Just About Everything” was written by Bob Dorough, probably in the mid 1960s. He was widely known by his work on Schoolhouse Rock!

About This Version

Tony Bennett recorded “I’ve Got Just About Everything” on March 27, 1964, for When Lights Are Low. Ralph Sharon wrote the arrangement and led his trio in piano, with Hal Gaylord on bass and Billy Exiner on drums.

“I’ve Got Just About Everything,” as well as When Lights Are Low, is available on Apple Music.

Bob Dorough wrote for and (sometimes performed on) Schoolhouse Rock! from its original airing in 1973 until last episode aired in 1994. One of those episodes was “Three Ring Government,” using the metaphor of a three-ring circus, yet another example of life imitating art.
