The song of the day for Wednesday, April 11, 2018 is “Falling In Love With Love.”
About This Song
Written by Richard Rodgers and Lorenz Hart, “Falling In Love With Love” is from the Broadway musical The Boys of Syracuse. The song pairs a beautiful Rodgers waltz melody with the adult and rather somber lyric by Hart: in other words, a perfect Rodgers and Hart song.
About This Version
Tony Bennett recorded “Falling In Love With Love” in 1965 in the same session as several of the songs that were released on the initial album If I Ruled the World: Songs for the Jet Set. The recording didn’t make it to the album in 1965, but was added (thankfully) to its 1997 re-release. Don Costa did the arrangement.
“Falling In Love With Love,” as well as If I Ruled the World: Songs for the Jet Set, is available from iTunes.
