About This Song
“I Let A Song Go Out Of My Heart” was written by the great Duke Ellington in 1938, with lyrics by Irving Mills, Henry Nemo and John Redmond. It was a major hit for Ellington, reaching #1 on the charts. In addition to his own recording that year, other recordings by Benny Goodman and Mildred Bailey were made that year and were extremely popular as well. About Today
It’s great to be back and a little emotional as well. Since my last post, I’ve been hospitalized (all OK now), moved and started a new job. There have been a lot of changes but I feel better than ever!
I never got to finish Marion Evans month from last February, so I’ll be doing that for the rest of the month and then featuring a new collaboration artist in May.
