I turned on the news today here in the UK and there it was, Tony Bennett had passed away today. It was not a shock in one sense but still I felt a real sense of great loss as he has been a part of my life (and others) for so long. I bought my first record ‘Till’ at the age of 15 and followed it up with the album ‘My Heart Sings’ shortly after. After that it was a lifelong journey. He was simply ‘one of the very best’ in so many ways and so I give thanks for him and the immense legacy of music he has left us. RIP Tony.
