Tony on NPR This Saturday

Tony Bennett will be interviewed by Scott Simon on Saturday’s Weekend Edition. That’s this Saturday, October 10, 2015. NPR will be posting the interview on their site that day; I’ll touch back here and add the URL. Scott adores Tony and I think it will be a great interview.

Tony Bennett’s 2004 visit to Marian McPartland’s Piano Jazz was replayed this week. If you haven’t heard this episode of this very fine program, you can listen to it here.

I’ve been listening to audio version of Marian McPartland’s book, All In Good Time. Ms. McPartland reads her own book, which makes it even more special. The book is available from Audible.

Blue Velvet

Tony and kd lang have collaborated on several occasions: A Wonderful World, Playing With My Friends and both Duets albums. Here is a video of them singing–beautifully– Blue Velvet, from Duets II. Their voices match perfectly on everything they sing together.
