Irving Berlin wrote “I Got Lost In His Arms” for the 1946 musical Annie Get Your Gun, where the song was introduced by Ethel Merman in one of her great Broadway roles. The song is now sung by men and women, with the interchangeable his/her pronoun.
About This Version
Tony Bennett recorded this beautiful version of “I Got Lost In His Arms” in 1986 for The Art Of Excellence, one of my favorite of his albums. It was the first album he made with Columbia after he returned to the label. And excellent it was.
