The song of the day for Sunday, January 31, 2016 is “Dearly Beloved .”
About This Song
Jerome Kern wrote “Dearly Beloved” for the 1942 Fred Astaire film You Were Never Lovelier, with lyrics by Johnny Mercer. Fred Astaire introduced the song in the film. The song was nominated for an Oscar for best original song, but lost to Irving Berlin’s “White Christmas.” Pretty stiff competition.
About This Version
