About This Version
Today’s song, “Love Letters,” is the fifth song on our album of the month, Cloud 7; it was the last song on Side 1 of the LP. It was recorded on August 11, 1954 in New York. It was arranged by Chuck Wayne, the guitarist for the album.
I enjoy hearing this song, even though I can imagine how maudlin it could become with a less talented singer. With Tony Bennett, it’s hopeful and positive, but not too yearning or sad.
“Love Letters,” as well as Cloud 7, is available from iTunes.
