About This Song

“Emily” is the theme song from the The Americanization of Emily, released in 1964, starring Julie Andrews and James Garner. The song was composed by Johnny Mandel, with lyrics by Johnny Mercer.

About This Version

Tony Bennett included “Emily” on his 1966 The Movie Song Album. The song was arranged and conducted by the composer, Johnny Mandel, who served as the musical director for the album. Tony Bennett said in his autobiography The Good Life that The Movie Song Album is his all-time favorite record.
