The song of the day for Sunday, September 4, 2016 is “Who Cares.”
About This Song
George and Ira Gershwin wrote “Who Cares (So Long As You Care For Me)” in 1931 for the Broadway musical Of Thee I Sing. It’s one of their most popular songs with many fine recordings, including those by Fred Astaire, Ella Fitzgerald and Judy Garland. Tony Bennett sings this song regularly in concerts to this day.
About This Version
Tony Bennett has recorded this song twice: the first in 1967 and again in 1993. Today we feature the 1993 version from the album Steppin’ Out, with an arrangement by Mr. Bennett and Ralph Sharon.
“Who Cares,” as well as Steppin’ Out, is available from iTunes.
