The song of the day for Thursday, May 12, 2016 is “Easy Come, Easy Go.”
About Easy Come, Easy Go
Today’s song, “Easy Come, Easy Go,” was written in 1934 by Johnny Green and Edward Heyman. If these names sound familiar, it may be because of another of their songs that widely recognized as one of the great jazz standards: “Body and Soul.”
About This Version
Tony Bennett recorded “Easy Come, Easy Go” in 1971 for his album With Love, released in 1972. The arrangements are by Robert Farnon. The pianist is John Bunch and the album was recorded in London. Don’t let the hippy cover design fool you; this is one solid album with many great recordings on it, including “Harlem Butterfly” and Bennett’s first recording of “Maybe This Time.”
