Glad to see that Tony’s having some fun in the middle of his European tour. We’ve read in his autobiography The Good Life that he enjoys playing tennis and we were happy to see this tweet from him today. We also think he looks quite handsome in his tennis whites.https://twitter.com/itstonybennett/status/228204373753356289
I’ve been writing a lot on this blog about Mr. Bennett’s music and art. Today I want mention his record as a humanitarian.
As I’ve been reading news stories and learning about Mr. Bennett, I’ve learned that he has a reputation as someone who contributes time and money to worthy causes. The Look to the Stars website lists a few of the organizations he supports. In addition to co-founding Exploring The Arts with his wife Susan Benedetto, he supports the efforts of others who want to reach out and help.
The Year of Tony Bennett contributes a dollar for each follower of this blog to Exploring the Arts, with a minimum of $5o each quarter to that organization.
The Year of Tony Bennett wishes Tony and his wife Susan a very happy anniversary!
The fact that I’ve started this blog means that I have a fair amount to say about Tony Bennett. I’ve said some of it already, and there’s a lot more to come.
But it comes down to this–thank you, Tony Bennett.
Thank you for making so many wonderful albums. Thank you for continuing to appear in concert. And for playing the West Coast often enough for me to see you in concert pretty often. Thank you for writing your books. Thank you for everything you mean to those of us who love your art and music.
Thank you for letting us share in that.
